Pink Cockatoo

Cockatoos are stand-out birds that are known for their pinkish color. The word cockatoo has its origins in Malay and means ‘vice’ or ‘grip’ because of their incredibly strong beak. I have always seen these lovely birds in either pink or yellow. Interestingly enough, they can also be seen in different colors, like black or brown.

I remember sitting on a stool in the zoo trying to take as many pictures as I could of these birds. They are so pretty that they stand out from every angle. What is also interesting is their unique shape because of the tuft of feathers on their head.

I am so excited to dive into this project since it is one of my favorites from the entire book. Pay attention in step 3 as we add texture to the bird. It’s a really interesting step and can be part of the fun.
